ENG

Mati Le Dee is the musical pseudonym of non-binary visual artist and musician Elke-Andreas Boon.
With an ensemble of musicians from the Belgian alternative and classical music scenes, they create narrative pop music in which poetry, chamber music, and cinematic imagination converge.
Following the debut album The Broken Heart of Mati Le Dee—an empowering album about loss, love, hope, and self-discovery in a patriarchal world—a second album, Blood Games, will be released on January 7, 2027.
The new album Blood Games is an artistic plea against war. It exposes the absurdity of violence and questions the allure of the simple dichotomies of good and evil, as well as the human desire for moral clarity in a world that is rarely unambiguous. It seeks to reject the persistent belief that war and violence are inextricably linked to the human condition. There is beauty and comfort in the hope that what we consider inevitable may not have to be so
.
With strings, winds, piano, and her recognizable voice, Mati Le Dee moves between intimacy and drama, allowing beauty, tension, and hope to coexist. This creates a theatrical universe that is timeless, personal, and socially engaged, with points of connection to both classical music and (art) pop, as well as the idiosyncratic, layered songwriting of artists such as Soap&Skin, Kate Bush, Joanna Newsom, Siouxie Sioux, and Kurt Weill
On Thursday, January 21, 2027, Mati Le Dee will present their album Blood Games with a concert at Scala (Minard).Mati Le Dee are:
Anna Buevich (violin), Marijn Thissen (viola, vocals), Eline Duerinck (cello), Joshua Dellaert (double bass), Anthe Huybrechts (piano, vocals), Siebe Duthoit (trumpet), Arthur Billiet (clarinet), Mati Le Dee (composer and vocals)
